Scranton Historic Iron Furnaces

The Scranton historic iron furnaces is one of the preserved historic places in Scranton, Pennsylvania built in the 1800's that is registered in the National Register Of Historic Places by the US Department of Interior. I learned that Scranton was a small village back then but eventually grew into a large city due to the coal mining potential and iron works as well. You will see one of the pictures below of the used to be iron furnaces. This is a great place to introduce kids to Scranton history and its settlement.
